German universities as a destination for Minnesota State students…

In an interesting article from 2011, the BBC correspondent Sean Coughlan makes the case that Germany is the most supportive destination for international students. Certainly our experience at HsKA, Karlsruhe, shows that the University of Applied Sciences is international student-friendly. We also noticed that Heidelberg, home of a well-known university, was a student friendly city. One of the most interesting points is that U.S. students can expect to find a number of courses taught in English. While ideally students would study in the language of the country they are residing in, realistically, given the state of language instruction in the United States, there will be many more students who would want to study in English than in German. The University of Applied Sciences International Office (Akademisches Auslandsamt) is the office that coordinates international student-related work at HsKA Karlsruhe.
